With his roots in Seacoast, NH, Jake shares his food for thought with his whiskey soaked, gravelly voice, an acoustic guitar, and some foot percussion. At the budding age of 24, Jake’s songs tell the tales of an old soul, who has survived the trials and troubles of labor, love, and loss; An old soul who has been molded by long nights, mild neurosis, ruckus-raising hootenannies, women, temptation, and American music. More often than not, you can find him performing in clubs, bars, and places in-between with his string band, Jake Davis & the Whiskey Stones.
Keep an ear and an eye out for Jake’s first studio release, “Live and Learn”, released May 3rd, at the Stone Church. The album was recorded live at 1130 ft, by Chris Chase. You can purchase your copy on iTunes, Amazon, or CD Baby. Expect to see Jake touring the East Coast and the Greater New England area this year, making appearances at Wild Woods Music and Arts Festival, Newburyport Brewing Co. Folk & Bluegrass Get Down, Keg & Kettle Fest, Sunapee’s River Fest, NBPT Yankee Homecoming, Newmarket’s Oyster Fest, and more.
- The buzz is aglow out of the gate when the band tears right into the opening number, the title track, “Live & Learn.”The chorus is catchy, and the music lively, aiding in that tipsy feeling you’re experiencing without ever letting you fall down. – Portsmouth Herald
